Yee

Yee is a Canadian Artist. He was born in Hong Kong. He graduated in Concordia University major in Design Art. His studio "Yee's Job" is located in Montreal. He has been doing paper craft for 27 years.

He had no plaything while he was growing up in a poor family. Therefore at the earlier age he started to cut sample shapes out of newspapers to fill out his free time. Then he self-educated traditional Chinese paper cutting (silhouette). And also started to design and handcraft toys with paper. He has developed an original paper cutting (silhouette) style that has highly detailing.

During the last 10 years, more than one thousand pieces have been handcrafted. Many of them were Famous people's portraits. The rest were tailor-made portraits.

e handcrafts with X-acto knife only. It takes 45 minutes to 12 hours to cut one. Each paper cutting is hold in a high quality double glasses frame. It looks delicate especially in front of a dark background.

Recently, he is making a booklet. It teaches people to handcraft original paper cuttings that developed by him. In addition, he also is master of many paper craft, such as origamic architecture, paper model, popup card, origami, paper maché etc.
